Creative Bathroom Storage Ideas
No matter the size of the bathroom, it often seems like there can never be enough storage space. Fortunately, there are plenty of clever storage solutions that can be implemented even in the smallest, most limited spaces. Read on for some creative bathroom storage ideas!
Doors doubling as storage
Make better use of your existing space by turning the inside of cabinet doors into more storage. This can be achieved by attaching a magnetic memo board inside the door, as well as small magnets to toiletries and cosmetics so they’ll stick on the door. You could also forgo the memo board and add magnetic strips instead, which can hold small magnetic objects such as bobby pins, tweezers and nail clippers. Alternatively, attaching adhesive hooks or mounting a wire rack will also create storage space where there previously was none.
Put it on wheels
Repurpose a bar cart into a storage cart for the bathroom. The separate tiers are perfect for keeping all your supplies tidy and organized, and they’re available in both open shelf or closed drawer options. The cart can be moved around the bathroom as necessary, and even outside of it when you need more space or you need to clean. You can also create carts for different purposes, such as hairstyling or manicures, that can be tucked away when they’re not in use.
Utilize wall space
Empty walls are blank canvases that can be transformed to provide valuable storage space. Install a wall-mounted storage unit with individual slots to store plenty of towels. Mounting baskets on the wall can also do wonders for organization and accessibility. You could also install a hook or peg for hanging a wire shower organizer outside of the shower. Lean a ladder against a wall to use it as an unconventional towel rack with an interesting boho flair. There are also storage ladders that are designed to fit over the toilet that will add visual interest as well as storage space.
Install built-ins
If you can’t put things on your walls, consider going into them—with built-ins, that is. Not only are these classic shelving solutions timeless, but they create more storage and reduce clutter without sacrificing any floor space in the process. For a simpler aesthetic, you can skip the frame and only install shelving. Built-ins don’t necessarily have to take up an entire wall, either. They can be as big or as small as your space allows. You can even create a built-in just to hold and store toilet paper!
